Safety isn't a feature we bolted on. It shapes how SameVibe works from the ground up, starting with who's allowed on the platform at all.
Adults only, checked at signup
SameVibe is strictly for adults 18 and older. We collect date of birth during registration and calculate eligibility from it. We don't rely on a simple "I am over 18" checkbox, and Apple or Google sign-in alone doesn't satisfy this requirement.
Group-first by design
There's no public people-search directory, and viewing someone's profile doesn't unlock messaging them. First contact always happens inside a shared community, activity, or event group.
Blocking that actually follows through
When you block someone, it applies across communities, activities, messaging, attendance lists, recommendations, and notifications, not just the one conversation you blocked them from.
Human review for serious decisions
Automated tools help us triage and organize reports quickly, but permanent bans, credible threats, and sensitive allegations always get a real person's judgment before final action.
Your exact location stays private
Before you join an activity, you'll see a general area or public venue, not a precise address. Sensitive or private locations are only revealed after an appropriate participation step.
Automated checks on new listings
New activities are screened for things like sexual solicitation, threats, hate-based content, weapons concerns, spam, and exposed personal contact information before they reach full distribution.
What we don't claim
We'd rather be precise than reassuring. SameVibe does not currently verify government-issued identification for every user. Eligibility is based on the date of birth provided at signup, not an ID check. If that changes, we'll update this page to say so clearly.
We also don't claim that every event or every user has been comprehensively screened. What we do provide is reporting, blocking, moderation, and a real human review process for anything serious.
Staying safe when you meet up in person
- Meet in the public area shown for the activity, especially the first time
- Tell a friend where you're going and roughly when you expect to be back
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it's okay to leave
- Use SameVibe's in-app messaging until you're comfortable sharing more
- Report anything that violates our community guidelines, even if you're unsure
